Privacy Policy

Who we are

anika superstar (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates https://www.anikasuperstar.com. We aim to protect and respect your privacy and the following policy outlines information collected, stored, and shared about you by using this website. Please read this policy carefully; if you do not accept and agree with this privacy policy, you must stop using this website immediately.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact Us Form

We use WPForms Lite as the Contact Us form provider. WPForms collects the data shown on the form and sends it via email to us over the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). Our SMTP servers are protected by TLS. Our understanding is the WPForms Lite does not collect additional information or use cookies, based on this article.

The information sent to us is used to contact you and answer your inquiries and will not be used for any other purposes. The data is only stored in our email client (we have elected not to use Lite Connect, and GDPR enhancements are on). This data will be kept until you ask us to delete it.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article on this website, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Advertisements

We decided not to use advertisements in order to preserve the user experience; instead, affiliate links within posts support this publication (please see the section below for more details).

Affiliate Marketing

This website is reader-supported. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases through affiliate links placed in our posts. When you click on and/or make a purchase through an Amazon affiliate link placed on our website, we may receive a small commission (at no additional cost to you). All efforts are made to ensure these links are clearly disclosed in accordance with FTC policy.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction. We use this data to determine the number of people using this website, to better understand how they find and use our web pages. Google uses cookies to collect these analytics.

Google Analytics records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us. GA also records your computer’s IP address which could be used to personally identify you but Google do not grant us access to this. You can find more information through their privacy policy here.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Please note that we have no control over how your personal information is collected, stored, or used by other websites and we recommend reading the privacy policies of any such websites before providing any data to them.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. Our understanding is that WordPress handles and stores this.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We may use (and disclose) any personal information collected and stored about you in order to comply with any investigative demand, court order, or a request for cooperation from law enforcement or other government agency.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Changes To Our Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, if the law changes or if we are missing something). Any changes will be immediately posted on this website and you will be deemed to have accepted the terms of the Privacy Policy on your first use of this site following the alterations. We recommend that you check this page regularly to keep up-to-date.
